ZANESVILLE: Mary Lou Roessler, 88 of Zanesville died peacefully with her loving family at her side at 2:03 PM, Friday March 3, 2017 at the Brookdale Senior Living. 

She was born on September 12, 1928 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Silvus) Pfeifer. Mary Lou was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She worked at the Telephone Company for a few years. She became a stay at home mom to raise her eight children. She enjoyed fishing at Buckeye Lake during the summer months. She was an avid Buckeye Fan, especially when her husband, Harold played in the Ohio State Alumni Marching Band and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Karen (Larry) Young of Zanesville, Christine (Robert “Rocky”) Rowe of Zanesville, Janet (Russ) Powers of Caldwell, Diane (Ralph) Milligan of Zanesville, and Ragine (James) Butler of Zanesville; sons, Harold “Hal” Roessler, Jr. (fiancé Cathy Davis) of Zanesville, and Michael (Jane) Roessler of Zanesville; son-in-law Kevin Baker of Nashport; grandchildren, Abbie (Steve) Frase, Keelie (Chuck) Goldsmith, Joey Baker, Adam Young, Michelle Merry, Trisha (Anthony) Hartge, Megan (Matt) Totton, Deven and Aaron Powers, Daniel and Jonathan Milligan, Zac (Ali) Roessler, Erica (fiancé Joe Cook), Megan, Kaylin, and Kristin Roessler, Katie (John) Payne, Kylie Johnson, Mallory McConnell, Rachella (Eligah Swift) Roessler, and Lucretia Smith, Jamell and Victor Butler; great-grandchildren Justin, Elle, and Alex Frase, Joey, Logan, Landon, and Madellen Goldsmith, Joseph II, Anton, Kameron, Quinten, and Konner Baker, Bayleigh, Payton, and Mason Hartge, Addalynn and Amelia Roessler, Ziyan Swift, Aniyah, Kyeriona, Jamell and Cassius Butler, Jerimiah, Tyreese, and Alexionna Butler. She is survived by a brother Jack Pfeifer and sister-in-law Glenna Pfeifer. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Sr., a daughter, Ellen Baker, a grandson, Joshua McConnell, her siblings Robert Pfeifer, Walter Pfeifer, Rita Winters, Gertrude Long, Elinor Staley Swank, Margaret Perine, and Gerald “Jerry” Pfeifer.

Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8pm with Christian Vigil at 7:45 pm on Monday March 6, 2017 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Tuesday March 7, 2017 at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Ralko as celebrant. Burial will conclude at the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
