Jeff is the oldest son of Jack and Ann (Finan) Hardwick and has four younger brothers, Greg, Tony, Lance and Ryan. He graduated from St. Thomas Parochial Elementary School, Bishop Rosecrans Parochial High School, Ohio University at Zanesville and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

Jeff has worked in funeral service in the Zanesville area since 1979. He has three children, Chase, Megan and Jenna. He is a 9th Degree Grand Master Black Belt karate instructor, having trained over 50 years, and teaches at Ohio University at Zanesville and the Coszacks Karate Club. Jeff is an active member, past trustee and past Commodore of the Zanesville Yacht Club, Past President and current member of the Muskingum River Advocacy Council, Past President of the Zanesville Kiwanis Club, Past Vice President of the Zanesville Jaycees, Board Member & Ambassador of the Zanesville/Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, member of the Noon Rotary club, member of the VFW Post 1058 and the American Legion post 29, Moose Lodge 867, a member of the Zanesville Country Club, and member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, having served on both the school board and the Parish Council. He is also the current Grand Knight and 4th Degree Sir Knight member of Knights of Columbus Council #505, past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association District #13, Past Director at Large for the Ohio Funeral Directors Association as well as a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, the Ohio Embalmers Association, the National Funeral Directors, a CFSP (Certified Funeral Service Practitioner) with an award of distinction from the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, CCO (Certified Crematory Operator), CCSP (Certified Cremation Service Provider), a Certified Celebrant, and served as a remote surgical technician for the Central Ohio Lions Eye Bank for over 25 years, A Pathologist Assistant for over 20 years and currently serves as a remote surgical technician for the Harvard Medical School Brain Bank as well as several other Neuroscience & Brain Research Medical Colleges.

In addition to martial arts, Jeff enjoys boating, motorcycle riding, snowboarding, wake-boarding, weightlifting, golf, fishing and watching movies. He resides in Zanesville along the beautiful Muskingum River with his wife, Dena Findeiss Hardwick, who is the Funeral Home's in-house florist providing beautiful flowers for her clients & the community.

Dena is the Funeral Home's in house Floral Designer, providing beautiful flowers & gifts for her clients & the community. She was the previous owner and operator of Dena's Floral Design and was also employed with Ford's Flowers for several years. She joined the staff as a funeral assistant and ambassador in 2013. Dena is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Zanesville Yacht Club, the Zanesville Country Club and an Auxiliary Member of the Knights of Columbus # 505, VFW post 1058 and American Legion Post 29. She resides in Zanesville along the beautiful Muskingum River with her husband, Jeff Hardwick, who is Managing Partner of Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, and her two pet Yorkies, Chaz and Zoey.


Saleen Shelby Hail

Funeral Director / Embalmer / Administrative Assistant / CCO & CCSP

Originally from Cincinnati, Saleen moved to Zanesville in the summer of 2017.

Saleen joined Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home in January of 2018.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2016 from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. She is currently a licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer, CCO (Certified Crematory Operator) and a CCSP (Certified Cremation Service Provider), with Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home.

In her free time Saleen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and just being outdoors as well as taking care of her two pet cats, Thunder and Kali.

Daniel J. Snider

Funeral Director, Embalmer

Dan began his career as a Funeral Director when he graduated in 1980 from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, where he was awarded the Ohio Embalmers Award for Excellence. He decided on funeral service after working several years part-time at a local funeral home while working a night shift full-time stocking shelves at a grocery store. Dan joined Bryan Funeral Home in May of 1984. Helping plan a special service of remembrance customized to each families wishes is one of the ways Dan feels he can help families and friends memorialize their loved ones. He feels a great deal of satisfaction when families tell him he has made this difficult time a little easier.

Dan is the eldest of eight siblings. He married Charlotte M. Harkness on September 2, 1983. She was a nurse for over 30 years at Good Samaritan Medical Center and now works for Quality Care Partners in Disease Management. They are the parents of three sons, Devin, Adam and Kyle.

Dan enjoys spending time with his family and friends and traveling whenever possible. He and his family are active members of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, where he and Charlotte are Eucharistic Ministers. Dan is also a member of the Mt. Olive Cemetery Committee, the Knights of Columbus, the Central Ohio Lions Eye Bank, the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, the Ohio Embalmers Association, and the Catholic Social Services Advisory Board. Dan and Charlotte are also active supporters of Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care and have participated in the Zaney Follies for over 23 years. Charlotte is a member of the Board at Rambo Memorial Health Clinic.

Dan is looking forward to many more years of continued service at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home.

Kenneth K. Reigle

Kenneth K. Reigle

Funeral Director, Emblamer

Ken graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1979 and was the recipient of the A.J. Nunnamaker award for the highest scholastic achievement and exemplary student citizenship. His interest in funeral service began at an early age but did not manifest until after he worked as an EMT for a private ambulance company alongside as a surgical technician during college.

He has served Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home for 30 years and enjoys the latest trends in funeral service. For him, the ability to customize a service unique to a person's life is both challenging and rewarding. He also enjoys the technology that allows us to create so many different things to provide this type of personalized service.

Ken is married to Jo Ann (Dingey), who recently retired after a long career with the Social Security Administration. Together they have three grown daughters and five grandchildren.

In his spare time, Ken enjoys outdoor activities such as boating, camping, fishing and campfires with friends and family. He has an extensive background and interest in community involvement, such as Scouting and Big Brothers & Sisters, and has served as treasurer and vice president of the Zanesville Sertoma Club. He currently serves as President. He was named the 2005 Sertoman of The Year by the Zanesville Sertoma Club. He also holds professional memberships in the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Embalmers Association, and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science Foundation.

Erika Dupree

Erika Dupree

Licensed Apprentice / Funeral Assistant

Erika joined Bryan and Hardwick funeral home in June 2022, and is a 2023 graduate from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Erika is relatively new to the Zanesville area, as she grew up moving most of her childhood. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her fur babies, finding a new DIY project, and just about anything outside, especially kayaking and sitting outside by a fire.

Scott Ridgley

Scott Ridgley

Funeral Assistant

Scott is a lifelong resident of Zanesville. He graduated from Zanesville High School in 1975 and married his high school sweetheart, Mary, in 1979. They have two children, Jessica and Jeremy, both Zanesville residents. Scott was a member of both the Ohio Army and Air National Guard, he was honorably discharged from both.

Scott was a member of the Zanesville Jaycees and was made an honorary lifetime member when he exhausted his time with the organization.

Scott is a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Council #505, where he is a two term past Grand Knight.

Scott retired from United Parcel Service with 37 years of service. He enjoys golf, photography and shooting.


Denny Bryan

Funeral Assistant

Denny joined Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home following his November 2015 retirement from a 38-year career in Surgical Services with Bethesda Hospital, Genesis Health Care Systems and Genesis Surgery Center.

Denny married Jody Mitchell in October 1985. Jody, also an Resident Nurse, works as a Coordinator for G.I. Services at Genesis Surgery Center. Together they have two sons, Nick (Kerry), and Chad (Valerie), and a granddaughter, Scarlett.

Denny graduated from Bishop Rosecrans High School and obtained an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Ohio University at Zanesville. He is a member of St. Nicholas Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #505. Denny is a past member of the Muskingum Valley Basketball Officials Association, having served 16 years as an area official. In addition to hunting and fishing, Denny enjoys playing golf and pickle ball.


Maryanna Fenton

Maryanna has been working with Bryan & Hardwick since 2007. She is very involved with the Zanesville community, serving on several boards, including the Genesis Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of the Zanesville Welfare Organization and Goodwill Industries, Inc., and the Board of Trustees of the Zanesville Day Nursery. She is a member of the Zanesville Museum of Art, Beaux Arts Club, Meadow-Vale Garden Club and the Zanesville Women’s Club. She is also a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Nancy Hagan Circle and other church committees.

Maryanna was married for 49 years to Assistant Fire Chief and former Mayor Jack Fenton, who passed away in 2006. She has three children, Jane Trent and Stephen and Michael Fenton, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, all of whom are very dear to her. She enjoys reading, gourmet cooking, interior decorating and traveling. She is always ready to assist families and makes them feel welcome with her smile and warm greetings.

Paulette has been married to Kenny Weber for almost 45 years, and they attend St. Nicholas Catholic Church together. She retired from Radiology Associates in 2009 and enjoys snow skiing, gardening, traveling and spending special time with her family.

She began her employment with the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home in March 2016 and enjoys her time working at the funeral home and being a part of the community.


Alice Shirer

Alice Shirer

Ambassador

Alice lives near Sonora, Ohio, where she enjoys farming, raising mostly cattle. She retired from the Grange Insurance Company and the General Adjustment Bureau (GAB). Alice enjoys music and singing in particular. For the past several years, she has been singing alto with the Greater Zanesville Singers and the Traveling Country Church Choir. She is a member of the Sonora United Methodist Church and has had Dalmatians in her life for more than 50 years, the most recent of which was Dottie, who passed away in 2008.

Alice has been working as the Ambassador at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home since 2010. She remains active with her high school friends and has assisted with the Zanesville High School (Lash) class reunion.

At the funeral home, Alice is always ready to help anyone in need and enjoys visiting with guests and reconnecting with friends.


Carol Fraunfelter

Carol joined our staff as an ambassador in October 2017.

She retired from Ohio University-Zanesville in July 2013 as Records Management Associate after 20 years. Carol is a member of Fair Oaks Baptist Church and volunteers preparing income taxes with the United Way. Her hobbies include golf, pickleball, walking, and card games.

Carol was married for 33 years to Danny Fraunfelter who passed away in 2011. She has a deceased daughter Nikki Fraunfelter Ring, stepdaughter Leslie Rodich and stepson Sean Fraunfelter. Her family includes her husband, Joe Markley whom she married  in August of 2021, nine grandchildren; Madison, Rylee, Raine, Isaac, Griffin, Brooklyn, Eden, Albert & Charlotte; and three step-children, Ryan, Adam & Amanda.

Jenna is the daughter of Jeff Hardwick and Kelly Musselman. She has two siblings, Chase Hardwick and Megan Hardwick. She has grown up in the funeral business and has helped her father in many different ways around the funeral home. She serves as an Administrative Assistant, Funeral Assistant & Ambassador. Jenna had attended St. Thomas Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Zanesville High School and The Ohio State University Nursing program. She enjoys traveling, exercising & spending time with family.  


Lance Hardwick

Funeral Assistant / Ambassador

Lance is the 4th son of Jack and Ann Finan Hardwick and has four brothers, Jeff, Greg, Tony & Ryan. Lance has 6 children and two grandchildren. He is a graduate of St. Thomas Catholic Elementary School and Bishop Rosecrans Catholic School. A member of the Knights of Columbus #505, an Army Veteran, enjoys Weight Lifting, golfing and staying busy. He's an avid Raiders  & Notre Damn football fan. Lance has helped his brother Jeff in the funeral business since he was very young. He currently serves as an Ambassador & Funeral Assistant.   


Megan Hardwick

Megan is the daughter of Jeff Hardwick and Kelly Musselman. She has two siblings, Chase Hardwick and Jenna Hardwick. She has grown up in the funeral business and has helped her father in many different ways around the funeral home.  Megan had attended St. Thomas Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Zanesville High School. She graduated form the The Ohio State School of Cosmetology and works fulltime as a beautician in Columbus & Zanesville. She enjoys traveling, shopping, exercising & spending time with family. She serves as an administrative assistant, Funeral Assistant, Ambassador and Licensed Beautician.
