Dixie, we were so sorry to hear about Barbara. You both have been so missed on our little Florida street. I will always remember Barbara walking up and down the street with Belle (or previous dogs) and she always seemed so happy and friendly. The video is such a lovely tribute to Barbara and to say she will be missed is an understatement.
We are so sorry for your loss and you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Karen & Maunsel White

As many of you know, Barbara loved her Native American artifacts. One of my fondest memories of Barbara was when she came to Oklahoma (Indian Territory) to visit Matt and me. On their travels here Barbara was reading a brochure about a Native American Trading Post called “The Silver Wolf” in Sand Springs, Oklahoma and wanted to go there one afternoon. Now, picture this….Matt was 6’ tall, Dixie is darn close to that, Barb and I are about the same height at 5’8”. I drove a little blue, 2 door, Geo Metro, 5 speed stick, coup at the time. The guys crawled and stuffed behind the bucket seats into the back; we ladies got in the front. I drove because, after living here for so long, I knew where we were going. The 45 minute, one way, trek proved to be rather confining and we made it none too soon! The guys needed out! Upon arrival to the graveled parking lot there stood a ratty old, rundown building, weeds grown up around and it appeared that it had once been home to a liquor store from the 60’s! I swear the windows had not been washed since then. Inside was a very dark, dank old place, dusty and dirty. Behind the counter was a very unkempt old man in dire need of a bath, shave and deodorant. I bet he slept in the back! Matt and Dixie wanted no part of this adventure any longer so departed to wait by the car! Barb browsed around a bit and spied something of interest. Well, the store keeper saw dollar signs and asked fifty prices for what Barb had spied and there was no bargaining. We left without a purchase. The grumblings from the backseat began and we ladies went shopping another day to the antique stores of Claremore, Oklahoma without the men in tow! After that, anytime Barb mentioned a word to Matt about Native American artifacts, Matt would ask her if she wanted to go back to “The Silver Wolf?” Rest in Heavenly Peace, Barb. Give Matt a hug for me! See y’all when I get there!

Peggy and I had the pleasure of spending many a sunset together from the deck in Seagrove Beach . We shared a view of the sun setting over the Gulf of Mexico looking hard for the green flash to appear. The cocktails always celebrated the day and helped the conversation .

Certainly one of the dearest ladies we have known . She also served as a great friend and confidant to many in our family. Barb was a true refrigerator friend swapping newspapers and conversations everyday.we never thought twice about sharing a cup of coffee in our robes .

We had the great fortune of living as neighbors in Florida for decades . My wife Peggy since birth myself since 1978. THe list of memories is long and special . It's hard to mention Barb without her best friend and husband Dixie the two as one . They served as the greatest of role models from the first time I met them while dating my now wife through our now grandparent role . The life lessons of family, friendship and neighbors is a great personal treasure.

Barb will be missed but never forgotten in my home . We will be forever grateful to have ridden on her train for many memories.

All our love
Dale And Peggy Koblenzer
