Barbara Ann Lehman Davis passed away at the Adam's Lane Care Center Jan. 17, 2017.  She was 88 years of age.  She was the daughter of Mabel Preuter Lehman and Lloyd Lehman of Dayton, Ohio. Barbara attended Dayton Fairview High School. She was a gifted athlete and directed junior athletic activities when in senior high. Following graduation she attended The Ohio State University where she met her husband to be, Richard D. Davis who had returned from WWII military service.   She was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. They wed in 1949 and celebrated 67 years together. She worked to assist her husband in the expenses of medical school.  She and her husband moved to Zanesville in 1953 where they shared 40 years of medical practice. They were members of The Forest Avenue Presbyterian Church. Following retirement they spent many years at their beach cottage in the panhandle of Florida. Barbara enjoyed golfing, tennis, her Green Thumb gardening group, a supper club of their many Zanesville friends, playing bridge with a group of many years and reunions with her old high school chums. She tolerated fishing and camping with her husband and children on the shoals and shores of Georgian Bay. She loved and acquired many items of antique furniture. She loved and supported The Zanesville Art Center. Barbara is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Davis, her children Susan Anderson, Dr. Dean Davis and William Davis, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Her youngest son, Matt, passed away in 2016 and her older sister, Virginia Brower also preceded her in death. Barbara was a grand lady, a wife, a mother and a friend who was loved and will be missed by all. What Seems to us a sunset is a sunrise in another land.   In lieu of flowers, contribute to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends Friday Jan. 20th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville.
