I met Richie for the first time somewhere back in the late 60's at Scout Camp. He instructed me in swimming and lifesaving during those years. He and Keith Wolfe were the ones that "Tapped " me out for OA. (Scared the crap out of me!!!) I haven't seen him since the mid 70's and kinda regret that but it seems like he has touched a lot of lives like he did mine. May he rest in peace.

Dolly, Russ, Ashley, and Chad,

So sorry for your loss. I will always be thankful for the skills I learned from Rich while helping with swimming lessons and working on various home improvement projects during the summer.

I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Clark's passing. My condolences to his family during this difficult time. I have never known anyone to make Biology Class as fun as Mr. Clark did. He had a true gift for teaching. Everyone who knew him are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am very sorry to learn of the passing of Rich. We worked together, as teachers, for over 30 years at Zanesville High. Rich always had a gift for sizing up the world succinctly for what it was. I always enjoyed listening to his philosophy of life...he indeed was philosophical, and I will never forget the many discussions we had about the state of the world in general; these will always be very pleasurable memories, indeed. In addition, he had a passion to guide and uplift others, in a positive way. This was always evident in his teaching, his work with Boy Scouts USA, and his passion for coaching swimmers. My sympathy to Dolly, Ashley, Russell, and Chad. I am indeed sorry for your loss of husband, father, and friend.

Wish I could be there for Rich's tribute, but I have moved south. I enjoyed working with him at ZHS for many years. I remember the numerous proms he and Ann decorated for and was proud to follow in his footsteps.

Dolly & Family
I know this is a hard time for everyone, but His smile will always be with you and He loved you all so much, He would want you to remember the many good times over the years. He went into this surgery with all the confidence of the other surgeries but knowing the reality of the situation. He was a tough Ole Boy Scout and a proud one too. Rest in Peace Friend, we'll see you again. My love to you all.

Dolly, Russ, Ashley, and Chad,

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your families during this difficult time. There are no words that I can express to ease the hurt and pain. I want you all to know that I treasure the hours spent in the pool, in the classroom, and the lab room. Rich is one of the reasons that I entered the field of education. Under his tutelage I learned how to guide others to overcome fears and hurdles and conquer what seemed to be an impossible feat.

May God wrap His loving arms around you and your families.

Swim on coach and thank you for the memories!

Fondly,
Kedra (Billker) Lineweaver

There are some men in this world who are truly great... truly loving and generous and honorable and helpful and encouraging and who leave a indelible mark in the lives of those around him. Rich was one of those great men. He was kind and bold, and he will be dearly missed. Thank you, sir, for all the ways you and Dolly supported me and cheered me on and believed in me... even now, I will not let you down. God bless you and keep your precious family squarely in the palms of His hands. Well done, Rich... we love you always ♡
