Timothy "Tim" Lloyd Ickes

Timothy Lloyd Ickes, 63, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on February 7th, 2024 after a fatal car accident.
Tim was born on June 20th, 1960 to Joan and Robert Ickes in Massillon, Ohio. After graduating from Massillon High school in 1978, he joined the US Army and dedicated his life to protecting our country. Tim served in the Special Forces as a Green Beret, First Airborne, field medic, scuba diver and then serving in the National Guard totaling 26 years then retiring in 2004.
Tim then went on to receive his Master’s degree in 2007 at Kettering College as a Physician’s assistant. After graduating, Tim continued to serve as a Mental Health professional at Muskingum Behavioral Health and Muskingum Valley Health Center for 14 years.
On June 14th 1981, he married the love of his life Kathleen (Boley) Ickes in Massillon, Ohio. Tim and Kathy went on to have three children: Benjamin Ickes, Brandon Ickes, and Bethany (Ickes) Starcher.
Tim enjoyed Star Trek, camping, traveling the world, listening to audio books, and playing with his Grandchildren. Tim had a talent for storytelling, and found great amusement in teasing his kids. His kindness, generosity and empathy cannot be overstated.
Tim was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others. A loyal servant of God, Tim was dedicated to spreading the word of God’s reckless love. Now that Tim has passed into the arms of our Lord, his physical life on earth is over but it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him.
Tim joins his parents in heaven. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Ickes, his children Benjamin & Heather (McKenzie) Ickes, Brandon Ickes & Max Knight, and Bethany (Ickes) & Damien Starcher, his brothers Scott, Tom, Chris and Kevin Ickes and his grandchildren Sophia, Ethan, and Ash.
Services will be held at the Bryan & Hardwick funeral home on February 11th, 2024 at 3 pm. Viewing 1pm-3pm. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the “Tim Ickes Memorial Fund” with PNC Bank.
