Tribute

Thomas Stanton Colopy, 65, of Nashport, OH died March 20th after a lengthy battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease.

Tom was a 1976 graduate of West Muskingum High School. He was a lifetime member of the Zanesville Yacht Club, and a member of the Tri-Valley 12th Man Club while his boys played football, serving as president from 2009-2011. Tom was also a member of the Folk Choir at St. Thomas Aquinas Church singing with his parents, siblings, and daughter. Tom loved to sing and even in the late stages of his battle with Alzheimer's, he would find the words to his favorite songs. He loved to play on his small hobby farm, and he was always content to be riding around on his tractor tackling many projects. Every time it snowed, the neighbors could count on him to plow their driveways. Tom was proud to own two businesses in his life, Riverside Cable and Carskadden Optical. He loved boating, hunting, Ohio State football, and his dogs.

Tom is survived by his wife of 38 years, Leslie (Lynch). His children, Erin, whom inherited his curly hair, Adam (Alyssa) whom inherited his business sense, and Kurt (Allie) whom inherited his work ethic and drive. He is survived by one granddaughter, Charlotte. He is also survived by his mother Anne (Dodrill) Colopy, his siblings Craig (Bonnie), Terry, Kevin (Mary Jane), Lora (Jon) Anders, and Eric (Karen) and his siblings-in-law Lance (Allison) Lynch, Linda (Jeff) Fitzpatrick, Lace Lynch, Lori (Brad) Hoffman, and Larry (Shelley) Lynch as well as many nieces and nephews.

Tom is preceded in death by his Father, Leo Colopy, his father and mother-in-law Don and Joyce (Barrett) Lynch, and two brothers-in-law, Rob Julian and Doug Greiner.

The family would like to say a special thank you to his caregivers, Mary, Wakesha, Jeremy, Bill, Barb and his buddy Lance, as well as everyone who has helped and loved the family during the past 10 years.
