Ronald "Ron" A. Dolen, 80 of Zanesville took his last lap here on earth 10:18 AM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Genesis Morrison House Hospice following a short illness.
He was born on Wednesday, June 30, 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Albert and Ruth Hysell Dolen.

Ron was the owner and operator of Dolen Excavating. He raced stock cars for 25 years and was inducted into three racing Hall of Fames. Still to this day he was heavily involved in racing. His passion for racing and the #144 will live on through Anthony Kinkade. He was a friend & mentor to many people over the years. He was a dedicated family man, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved the conversations sitting around the table at his garage sharing his knowledge and wisdom with some of his best friends "the garage gang".

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen S. Chapman Dolen; his daughters; Stacey (Rick) Aukland, Shelley (Brad) Lynch and Anthony Kinkade “the son he never had”; five grandchildren; Daryan, Darby, Evan & Edan Lynch and Landyn Aukland; and many loving friends. Ron was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his sisters Betty Jerles and MaryLou (Paul) Guthrie.

Family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM & 8:00 PM on Wednesday February 14, 2018 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
