OBIT FOR: REBECCA "BECKY" J. MATHES
Rebecca "Becky" J. Mathes , 88 of Zanesville passed peacefully at 12:15 PM Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Beckett House under hospice care and with Patrick & Linda by her side.
She was born on Tuesday, April 25, 1933 in Zanesville and had been employed at the front desk at the Town House Motel as well as with the Roekel Company & piece goods department at JC Penney Downtown. Most recently, she had been employed in the family business, Creative Graphics as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed reading, music and was especially a loving wife, mother & grandmother. She very much enjoyed her monthly luncheons with Judie & Sherry.
Becky is survived by a son, Patrick (Linda) Mathes and a daughter, Peggy "Peg" (Paul) Yates; 3 grandchildren, James "John" (Wendy) Luce, Marshall Lilly and Evan Lilly; several nieces & nephews. Rebecca "Becky" was preceded in death by her mother Florence Bruce, her loving husband of 50 years Donald O. Mathes; a brother, Walter "Sonny" Bruce; and a daughter, Cynthia "Sue" Lassiter.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Adamsville United Methodist with Pastor Pamela Lashley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM before the service.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Genesis Hospice.
