Michael "Mike" J. Salahub Jr.

Michael "Mike" J. Salahub Jr., 74 of Zanesville died at 12:28 A.M. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House following injuries sustained in a farming accident on his property.
He was born on July 1, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Michael J. Salahub Sr. and Theresa E. (Durant) Salahub.
Mike was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nashport, a 1966 graduate of Maysville High School and retired in 2011 from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 495 after 45 years of service. He very much enjoyed working on the family farm and often said, "He was a pipefitter by profession but he was a farmer in his heart". Mike enjoyed spending time with family, especially with his two granddaughters.
In addition to his father, Mike is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Donna J. (Miller) Salahub whom he married on October 7, 1972; two daughters, Becky Salahub and Susan (Matt) Derwacter; two granddaughters, Abby and Anna Derwacter; a sister, Judy Pletcher; several nieces & nephews; and all his friends whom he met in his professions. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with Christian Vigil service at 5:45 PM on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nashport with Fr. Ryan Schmit as celebrant. Burial will conclude at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
