Matthew Guy Gaumer

Matthew Guy Gaumer, 25 of Zanesville died Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born April 23, 1994 in Columbus, Ohio the  son of Gregory Guy Gaumer and Judith A. Blackwood Gaumer.
Matthew loved being in the swimming pool, holding on to his stuffed animals and listening to music.
In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his caregiver of 17 years, Shannon Van Horn, also caregiver, Cindy Aggas; two special friends who were very important to him, April Smith & Peggy Bauer and special friend Trent Frame; an aunt, Valeria Blackwood and aunt & uncle Cindy (Ron) Harrison; a great aunt, Jo Blackwood; numerous cousins that loved him dearly, and also his longtime friend & personal doctor, Dr. Gerald Tiberio.  Matthew was preceded in death by grandparents, Victor & Alberta Gaumer, Skeet Blackwood & Mary Blackwood and two uncles Marty Blackwood & Jeff Draper.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. 
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Rambo Health Center, Zanesville City Schools Special Education Programs or to the Muskingum County Library.
