Obituary

Martha Ellen Gibbens, age 83, of Catoosa, Oklahoma, formerly of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at Metro Pentecostal Church with Reverend Donald Martin officiating.

Martha was born on November 21, 1938, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of Elmer and Virginia (Sims) Whyte. She married Ralph E. Gibbens on April 4, 1970. The family moved to Oklahoma in 2010.

Martha loved attending church, church activities and her ladies group at church. She loved getting her hugs every week. In her younger years she enjoyed walking, roller skating and bowling. Martha also enjoyed her cat, Scooter.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jana Brandenburg and husband Brian; son, Kevin Gibbens; sister Bea Frizzell of Glenford, Ohio; nieces Connie Reasoner and husband Charles, and Cheryl Proffit and husband Russell; several great and great-great nephews and nieces, and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Virgina Whyte; husband, Ralph Gibbens, four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
