Dona L. Wheeler, 97, of Zanesville passed at 1:10 PM Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Oaks at Bethesda.
She was born on Friday, May 16, 1924 in Stovertown, Ohio the daughter of Alfred L. Mautz and Mary I. Ziegler Mautz.
Dona was a member of St. John's Stovertown Lutheran Church. She played organ, taught 5th grade Sunday school, directed junior choir and was a member of the choir at the church. Dona was also a member of WELCA. She did anything that needed to be done.
She is survived by four sons, Craig (Bobbie Hummel) Wheeler, Michael (Marcia) Wheeler and Twins Myron Wheeler and Byron (Becky) Wheeler; six grandchildren, Brandon Wheeler, Christina (Marc) Horvath, Melissa Paisley, Cody Wheeler, Toni Pamm Wheeler and Charlie Wheeler; eight great grandchildren, Jacob Wheeler, Elizabeth Wheeler, Annalise Rey, Rowan Brown, Piper Wheeler, Michael Butler, Jayden McClellan and Dylan McClellan; a sister Mariam Clum; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dona was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Wheeler; two sisters, Violet Wheeler and Lucy Edwards; and special friends Edward Wheeler and Bern Riley.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the St. John's Stovertown Lutheran Church with Pastor Al Laese officiating. Burial will conclude at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Stovertown, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dona’s name to the Prayer Garden at St. John's Stovertown Lutheran Church, 6575 Center Rd. P.O. Box 361 Philo, OH 43771.
