Geneva Irene Reese, 87, of Zanesville passed away peacefully at 8:55 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. She was born on March 23, 1930 in Zanesville, OH the Daughter of the late Darwin and Mae Bainter.
Geneva spent several years working at Howard Johnsons Restaurant and then some 20 years with the J.C. Penny Store in Zanesville. Geneva enjoyed cooking and crocheting, many times creating her own designs. Additionally, she loved going to Nashville each summer and attending the Grand Ole Opry. She also looked forward to attending many of the Ohio State football games and each spring going to the Memorial Golf Tournament.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Bainter of Reynoldsburg and numerous cousins.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Riggs officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Her son would like to thank ComForcare Senior Services of Reynoldsburg and Mt. Carmel Hospice for their care and comforting services they provided.
