Evelyn Frances Apperson, 90 of Zanesville went to be with the Lord at 5:55 PM Friday, January 19, 2018 at her residence under the care of Hospice and surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born on February 25, 1927 in Moatsville, WV the daughter of Harry Mayle and Della F. (Mayhle) Mayle.
Evelyn was employed as an assistant to Attorney Tom Joseph, later worked for the State Department of Industrial Relations, then worked as a secretary in Human Resources for the Miller Jones Shoe Company. After that she was the secretary to the Mine Manager for Central Ohio Coal /AEP for many years; then became a phlebotomist for Good Samaritan Hospital for 25 years before retiring. Evelyn was a member of Sharon Avenue Free Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for over 50 years.
She is survived by 4 daughters; Sheryl Faith (Mike) Wilson, Constance Sue Apperson, Crystal Hope (David) Aldred and Heidi Lynn Apperson; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a brother Raymond Mayle. Evelyn was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her by her husband of 66 years, Delbert Russell "Russ" Apperson; her brothers, Oliver, Jesse, William, Ralph & Robert and a sister Nona Bailey.
Friends may call 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday January 22nd at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. George Hughes officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
