Ernestine M. Dailey , 97 of  Zanesville died  2:40 PM,  Friday, March 03, 2017 at the Primrose Retirement Community of Zanesville.
She was born August 16, 1919 in Zanesville the daughter of John Clement Mattingly and  Olivia (Kerker) Mattingly.
Ernestine was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, and a hospital volunteer for more than fifty years in both Zanesville and Richmond Indiana where she lived for many years with her husband, John. She was an avid bridge player and golfer.
She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Suzanne and Peter Thompson; her granddaughter and her husband, Barbara and Bob Paterson; and her grandson and his wife, Matthew Goida and Christina Reeg; her great-grandson, Christopher Robert Paterson; her niece and her husband, Barbara and Mike Callahan, her grandnephews, Andrew Hess ( Ashley), Ben Hess( Shannon), Brandon Hess ( Jenny ); and a grandniece, Kelly Callahan and 8 great grand nieces and nephews. 
Ernestine was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, John E. Dailey on Aug. 26, 1986, and her two brothers and their wives, John and Margaret Mattingly and Robert and Bette Mattingly.
Donations may be made in her memory to Bishop Rosecrans High School Tuition Assistance Fund.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2017 with Christian Vigil service at 7:45 pm at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will conclude at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, East Pike, Zanesville.
